OGGI Charlotte Restaurant Review
I’m picky about Italian food. It needs to be soul-comforting, “make me want to do my happy dance” good. It should speak to me… excite me when I see it and make me smile and nod when I’m eating. It has to be fresh AND flavorful.
This was my expectation when I arrived at OGGI with my family, and they did not disappoint. It was so good!
We started with …
Boconccino are risotto croquettes, there’s mozzarella inside and they are delicious.
For my entree I went with the crabmeat ravioli.
Hubby had the salmon special with black risotto.
The girls chose macaroni and cheese and chicken tenders.
If you’re wondering whether or not I tasted everything, of course I did. It was too tempting not to sample everyone’s plate.
It was all excellent!
On my “must try at least once” list is the crab meat ravioli and the boconccino. I can’t imagine going there now and not getting at least one of these.
As for OGGI’s ambience and environment, the food was beautiful, the restaurant is pretty and the staff was friendly and efficient. It has a nice intimate feel that would work well for date night but it’s kid-friendly, too. While we were there we saw two large families come in and they were having a good time. There were also couples that ranged from twenty-somethings to retirees.
OGGI is located in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte in The Shoppes at Ardrey Kell. If you love Italian, you will absolutely adore this place.
Disclaimer: Our meal was complimentary, but that has no bearing on my review. I value your trust and would not post anything that was not solely my opinion.
