With October comes a lot of companies selling pink products to support breast cancer awareness.
And while I would like to believe that most people have good intentions, when such a small percentage of the proceeds (5% anyone…) actually go to support breast cancer awareness programs and research, I have to question the motives.
But Ford’s Warriors In Pink Program has not only calmed my fears, it prompted me to write this post!
First of all, 100% of the net proceeds go to Susan G. Koman for the Cure.
Secondly, their site TELLS YOU EXACTLY how much will be going to the foundation. For instance this Warrior Power t-shirt retails for $20 and $11.56 of that goes to the foundation.
The site also highlights total donations made to date. So, if you are in the market to buy something to support breast cancer awareness, I encourage you to check out their site. There are many options, including apparel that you can customize and symbols that many different things depending on where you are in the fight (from warriors to family members and more).
If you don’t like the idea of buying things and just want to make a donation, here’s a link to the Susan G. Koman site. Personally I love the conversation that comes from wearing a shirt, etc., but there are many ways to make a difference.
