Motherhood is a beautiful, perfect expression of God’s love.
I came up with this six-word description in response to the Six-Word MOMoir Challenge. I needed a way to express that being a Mommy was a miracle. Yes, it’s a miracle in the natural sense, but it’s also miraculous because it shows me how God loves me. And it does that in a way I could not understand before.
Motherhood is a baseline I see every day. Sure, I may not understand why he is telling me to do something (or not do it…), but it’s like me talking to my kids. Sometimes they have to do something “because I said so.” I don’t really owe them an explanation.
As the parent I know more, I have more experience and I can see the bigger picture. So, why do I feel the need to question God? He knows everything, so his “because I said so” should be more than enough.
This is backed up when I think about how much I love my girls. It’s a pure, unconditional and giving love. I want to do whatever I can for them, to give them the best, to make sure they are equipped for life and that they are good people. Well, if I want this, I KNOW that God wants the same for me, multiplied by infinity. After all, he is love.
So as Mother’s Day approaches I’m extremely grateful. Not only because God has blessed me with three of the most amazing girls ever, but because each time I look at them I am reminded of his miraculous goodness and love.

[...] The Beauty of Motherhood [...]
Hello! You have a great website here! I wanted to ask permission to use the black-and-white image of the baby hand in a parent’s hand, pictured with the article called “The Beauty of Motherhood.” I’m developing a website for our church mothers group, and this image would fit so beautifully. We are a small church ministry serving community parents; we do not sell anything. Please let me know if you would allow me to use this image. I can credit your website on ours, if you wish. Thank you so much!
